Public Art Installations & Interactive Urban Spaces

Contemporary art that shapes the identity of a city

At DION ART STUDIO, we believe that public art installations are more than just decoration — they are powerful tools for shaping identity, building community connections, and transforming ordinary cityscapes into unique points of attraction.

In today’s urban environment, public art plays a vital role. It gives spaces character, makes them recognizable, and infuses them with meaning. Each of our works is created to connect people with place — and space with emotion.

A single sculpture, interactive art installation, or light installation can become true iconic city art — strengthening a brand, revitalizing a public area, or setting the tone for an entire district. These creative urban installations inspire pride, drive tourism and economic growth, and turn architecture into living cultural narratives.

DION ART STUDIO creates immersive Interactive Urban Spaces that engage people through light, movement, and interaction. We don’t just fill a space — we activate it, turning every moment with the installation into a memorable emotional experience.

Whether it’s a city square, cultural venue, or commercial environment — we help you create urban landmarks that breathe, move, and speak the language of your city.

FAQ: Public Art for Urban Spaces

Our Public Art installations can be seen both in the United States and in Europe. Some of them are open for public viewing — for example, Crystal and Polygon 55 are located in Cleveland and have become part of the urban landscape. Upon request, we can provide a map or a full list of locations where our works are installed. Private tours or on-site consultations are also available for those interested in collaboration.

The process of creating a public art object at DION ART STUDIO is a well-coordinated work of a team of professionals, including several key stages. We pay special attention to each stage to ensure high quality of the final result and full compliance with the client’s expectations.

  1. Needs Assessment and Consultation: It all starts with communicating with the client. We carefully study their needs, wishes, vision for the future object, analyze the installation site, target audience, budget, and deadlines. Keywords: client consultation, needs assessment, site analysis, project brief, initial meeting.
  2. Concept Development: Based on the information received, our team (designers and engineers) develops several concept options for the future public art object. These can be 3D models, visualizations, or descriptions of the idea. We present the concepts to the client, discuss them, and make adjustments. Keywords: concept development, idea generation, brainstorming, design proposals, preliminary design.
  3. Design: After the concept is approved, we proceed to the detailed design of the object. A complete set of project documentation (conceptual and construction documents) is developed, including drawings, material specifications, load calculations, and a cost estimate. On average, the cost of design work is from 5% to 10% of the total cost of creating the public art object. For an accurate cost calculation, we need to receive a technical assignment or a completed questionnaire from the client.

DION ART STUDIO guarantees high-quality project documentation, compliance with all applicable norms and regulations, and an individual approach to each project. We work closely with the client at all stages of design to create an object that fully meets their expectations and requirements.

Yes, DION ART STUDIO definitely creates 3D visualizations of public art objects during the design phase. This is an integral part of our work, allowing the client (architect, developer, municipal representative, commercial property owner) to see what the future object will look like in reality, even before its manufacture and installation begin.

Advantages of 3D visualization:

  • Clarity: 3D visualization provides a much more complete and realistic representation of the object’s appearance than drawings or sketches. The client can evaluate the shape, scale, color, texture of materials, lighting, and how the object fits into the surrounding space. Keywords: 3D visualization, 3D rendering, 3D model, photorealistic rendering, concept visualization.
  • Accuracy: The 3D model is created based on the exact dimensions and technical parameters of the future object. This helps avoid errors and shortcomings during the design and construction phases.
