“Maze” – The Interactive Fountain for Urban Parks

DION ART presents “Maze”, a unique interactive fountain that breaks the boundaries of traditional water art, creating a portal into cosmic reality. Stretching 21 meters in diameter, with a central structure standing 3 meters tall, the fountain is crafted from stainless steel and glass, resembling a rising spacecraft. It is more than just a water installation – it is an entire world where water, light, and music merge into a grand performance.

“Maze” is a representation of the Solar System. Within the water maze, planets are positioned in perfect scale to one another, while at the center stands a model of a spacecraft that slowly ascends and descends on hydraulic platforms during the show. This fountain is a metaphor for an endless journey, a symbol of exploring new horizons, the passage of time, and the energy that unites everything in the Universe. Every step through the maze is a leap into the unknown, where guests become explorers navigating the cosmic realm.

The fountain comes to life through its visitors. 900 nozzles and 60 pumps create dynamic walls of water, rising and falling in rows of ten, forming a constantly shifting maze. The secret to navigating the maze lies in the interactive sensory buttons embedded in the ground. When a person steps on a button, the water in front of them lowers, revealing a path. If they choose the correct route, the maze guides them forward. If they misstep, the walls close, blocking their way. This is more than a fountain – it is a living architectural game, where each guest becomes a part of the water sculpture.

As darkness falls, “Maze” transforms into a portal to another universe. 190 RGB lights dynamically illuminate the water jets, each planet, and the spacecraft itself, creating a hypnotic effect. The centerpiece – the spaceship – does not simply glow; it shifts colors and projects beams into the surroundings, forming a captivating light show.

Every hour, a new water and light performance begins, drawing spectators in. People pause to watch, capture videos, and share their experience on social media – the fountain becomes the heart of the city’s nightlife. Adding to the atmosphere, mist-emitting nozzles generate an interstellar fog effect, enveloping the spaceship and the fountain, deepening the illusion of cosmic immersion.
