The Synergy of Water, Light, and Information in TSUM

In 2017, DION ART implemented a unique interior fountain, the “Water Curtain,” in the TSUM shopping center, located in the heart of Kyiv. This water art installation became an elegant addition to the modern space, creating an effect of lightness, dynamism, and futuristic design.

The fountain, measuring 6.5 x 3 meters, features a mesmerizing flow of 194 water jets that gently descend, forming a transparent water wall. Thanks to the integration of advanced technology, the water streams create various visual images, including the display of the current time, letters, and words appearing letter by letter or as whole words. This effect is achieved through precise control of each water stream, allowing the creation of dynamic and informative water patterns.

In combination with underwater RGB lighting, consisting of six fixtures, the water flow transforms into a captivating visual installation, changing colors and creating a unique atmosphere. The fountain’s technological system includes pump equipment installed in a technical room, ensuring stable operation and minimal noise levels. The total power consumption is 3.5 kW, with a water volume of 3 m³.

The “Water Curtain” in TSUM is not just a decorative element but a true piece of public art, combining aesthetics, innovative technology, and architectural harmony. This fountain has become an integral part of the space, offering visitors a sense of comfort, beauty, and modern style.
