Floating Fountain “Fluid Sails” – Living Sails of Water and Light
In 2019, DION ART unveiled Ukraine’s only floating fountain, “Fluid Sails,” designed exclusively for the New Sofiyivka Park in Uman. This fountain is an innovative fusion of engineering, art, and water, transforming a static sculpture into a living, dynamic masterpiece and a focal point of attraction.
An Engineering Marvel on Water
“Fluid Sails” is a soaring stainless steel composition, standing 8 meters high, 7 meters long, and 2.4 meters wide. The sculpture is mounted on a robust metal base and equipped with special floating mechanisms, allowing it to maintain stability and lightness as it gracefully moves on the water’s surface.
The fountain embodies the elegance of sailboats and the raw power of water, creating the illusion of movement, as if the sculpture is truly gliding across the water.
The Magic of Water and Light
At night, Fluid Sails transforms into a radiant art installation: 60 powerful lights illuminate its surface, creating a mesmerizing moonlit glow on the water. Light reflects off the polished metal and water surface, accentuating the fluidity of its form and making the fountain visible from afar.
Beneath its sleek sails lies a powerful water system, circulating 255 m³/h of water through three high-performance pumps with a total power of 22.5 kW. This system not only maintains the fountain’s buoyancy but also creates mesmerizing water effects, bringing the sculpture to life.
A Fountain That Transforms Space
“Fluid Sails” is more than just a fountain – it is a public art installation, seamlessly blending sculptural form and the infinite movement of water. It invites visitors to immerse themselves in a world where imagination and innovation set sail, turning art into a dynamic and ever-changing experience.
This one-of-a-kind floating fountain, unmatched in Ukraine, has become a striking visual landmark of New Sofiyivka Park, adding a unique atmosphere of modernity, harmony, and motion to the landscape.
