Fountain “Wines of Georgia” – A Symbol of Georgia’s Winemaking Tradition
DION ART presents “Wines of Georgia” – a unique classical fountain designed specifically for Georgia to reflect the deep cultural and historical connection of this country with winemaking. This fountain is a tribute to the centuries-old labor of Georgian winemakers, whose knowledge and traditions have been passed down from generation to generation. The central composition of the fountain consists of 10 massive wine barrels used for aging Georgia’s renowned wine. From these barrels, a rich red-colored stream flows, symbolizing wine pouring through time, linking Georgia’s past and present. The water then cascades into 12 traditional Georgian pitchers before reaching the main fountain basin, creating the mesmerizing effect of flowing wine.
The fountain is surrounded by 16 foam jets, mimicking the effect of wine spilling from a bottle, enhancing the sense of movement and dynamic composition. The entire structure rests on 1,000 wine bottles, representing the vastness and richness of Georgia’s winemaking industry. These bottles are positioned upside down and illuminated by special lights, creating a magical glow reminiscent of a wine cellar.
Attached to the copper plates on each barrel are engraved names of Georgia’s oldest wineries and wine brands, making the fountain not only an artistic landmark but also a historical monument to Georgian winemaking.
The fountain basin, measuring 11.5 meters in diameter, is clad in natural wood traditionally used for wine barrels, with a metal rim accentuating its structure. The entire outer design of the fountain gives the impression of a giant wine barrel partially buried beneath Georgia’s soil, symbolizing the deep-rooted traditions and the unseen yet monumental efforts of Georgian winemakers.
Technical Specifications The fountain has a diameter of 11.5 meters and features 10 wine barrels, 12 traditional Georgian pitchers, 16 foam jets, and a base made of 1,000 wine bottles.
