This project is far more than a decorative element; it is a living story that embodies the strength, honor, and pride of the Ukrainian people. It is a tribute to the glorious Cossack heritage, to freedom, and to the unyielding will that has allowed Ukraine to preserve its identity for centuries.

Philosophy and Meaning

At the heart of the fountain stands a majestic figure of a Cossack — a fearless Ukrainian warrior and defender, symbolizing unwavering strength and eternal readiness to protect his homeland. Surrounding him is a dynamic circle of galloping horses, representing freedom, power, and the historical memory of the nation. Every visitor who approaches the fountain is inevitably filled with pride, respect, and admiration for this scene, frozen in metal and water.

Artistic Concept and Symbolism

The circular composition is no coincidence — it reflects the eternal cycle of life and the unbroken link between generations. Twelve horses capture the energy, motion, and unstoppable drive forward. Each horse’s pose was carefully designed to create the sensation of real movement.

The Cossack figure stands proudly on a tall pedestal engraved with the coat of arms of Cherkasy and the city’s name in multiple languages. This not only honors the city itself but also symbolizes openness to the world, a reminder that Cherkasy’s history is an inseparable part of the global story of the fight for freedom.

Technology and Effects

The interactive fountain impresses both by day and by night. However, after sunset, it transforms into a spectacular art show. As darkness falls, a powerful dynamic lighting system comes to life, illuminating every detail. Water, light, and sound merge into a seamless performance, controlled by 8 interactive buttons placed around the fountain. Visitors become active participants, triggering water jets, bursts of light, and sound effects, creating a true multimedia experience.

The interactive fountain “Cossack” was envisioned as a public art landmark and a key point of attraction for both locals and tourists. It will serve as a venue for concerts, historical reenactments, festivals, and ceremonies.
